Time Management

Too often said but not too often done. Managing your time helps reduce stress and gives you lots of time to cope with your studies and fun. Don’t wait till the eleventh hour to open your book and mug up those chapters. Study beforehand. Your exam 10 days later? Don’t start on the 9th. Study on the first day. Get rid of those chapters then you can easily relax your next 9 or atleast five days. You’ll be able to go out without a worry.

Music

Yes. Music. Listening to music has a lot of positive reactions on our body and one of them is de-stressing. You have a project to finish. Put on your favorite music. Keep the volume at a comfortable level. Don’t blare it out in a way that it takes all your concentration away from your work. Keep it low but enough for you to listen to it and relax. Let it play in the background while you carry on with your work.

Schedule

Scheduling helps. A lot. Build a schedule. Keep a time for studies, for your friends, for tv and for your family. This really helps to balance your daily activities. Three hours for studying, one hour for tv. Another two hours for studying, one hour for you friends and so on. Keeping a schedule means your getting disciplined and discipline brings punctuality. In other words, you wouldn’t need to pull your hair in the last minute.

Sleep but not too much

Now you might ask why is this on the list. Everyone sleeps. Well some sleep too much and some too little. Sleep is one of the most important activities. It relaxes us and repairs our cells. Sleeping too much means laziness and sleeping too little means stress. Get that perfect eight hours of sleep. Don’t sleep for twelve to thirteen hours. Don’t go to sleep at 1 in the night and wake up at 1 in the afternoon. Bad idea and very unhealthy. Sleep in the right time. It will relax your brain and help you get refreshed for the next day. Don’t cut down your sleep to five hours and get up to study. You might think this works but it only adds pressure to yourself and your brain becomes slow in taking information. Sleep well but not too much.

So there you have it. They are very simple things to do but they are effective. Some of us take it for granted and most of us don’t bother. Stress will always be a part of our life but if you know how to deal with it, it can bring a lot more happiness into your life.
